It is an traditional religious event performed at home or as well as temple, which means the child is started his education. Pooja Procedure
Aksharabhyasam Puja is performed at home and mostly in temple, it is made on special days or as well as normal according to the Muhurtham. Pooja related materials should be carried compulsory they are 1kg rice, turmeric, Kumkum, slate, chalks, coconut, flowers, etc., The Pundit begin the pooja with the mantras, first Lord Ganesh pooja will be done next Goddess Saraswathi Devi pooja will be done and in plate of rice is placed and the parents take the child in their lap and make him to write the first letters such as “OM” or “OM NAMA SHIVAYA”. At the end aarthi is given and the distribution of slate, chalks, pencil, pens to other children.
Prasadam: On this day special sweet dishes they are banana Sheera, Payasam, Ladoo.
